i love a sunday afternoon...

evening all...
i am posting veeery late tonight due to the fact that ol'blighty has been bathed ALL weekend & today in glorious, gorgeous....rare sunshine....
we had a magic weekend of baking...a huge teen party...football {yep read soccer if you are a southern hemisphere friend!}...bbq-ing & backyard cricket...
H.E.A.V.E.N....
more on the birthday tomorrow....

tonight i want to share my sunday morning stop-&-smell-the-flowers-i-love-saturdays-club-post...
*a beach cottage- i love saturdays*
that's the name of the gang who just want to *take* a moment on a saturday...
a moment to enjoy life...enjoy our day-to-day time...
it's often the small inconsequential moments that bring the most pleasure...
check out sarah's thoughts on this *here*...

so...in keeping with sarah's *thoughts* for this weekend...
a walk...flowers...a little *playing* around with blossoms in the house...
taking time to *smell the roses* sort of thoughts...
the H & i went walking round our village...
we went flower hunting & paper buying...
the thought of *purchasing* flowers for this aussie girl did not even factor into the lovely *challenge* set by sarah this weekend...
as our village is awash with gorgeous blossoms...
& as any honest aussie knows...any plant that hangs over the fence line of a house is there for the taking..

this is not necessarily how things are done by the british in our village...
we got a few backward glances...
but look at those trees...who would notice a few missing buds...
so i collected from trees that overhung the street...
a small gorgeous armful of pink...

and i came home to play...
i gave some to my visiting sister-in-law...
i put them in little italian bottles next to her as she read in the sitting room...
i put more in little french bottles on a step in the kitchen...

and i popped some in little greek bottles for our bedroom...
spring blossoms throughout the house...
so beautiful...
so simple...

spring is now surrounding us inside & out
~~~
in three visits to europe
my brother has never seen england without the gorgeous english sunshine
maybe he's blessed
this is the *moment* i was hoping to remember by walking...
collecting...
and placing these blossoms around the house...
...the moment of feeling *blessed* by life...
life is good
&
our sunday afternoon was the lovely end to a wonderful weekend in the english countryside
~~~
happy monday all
 hope you had a *life is good- i feel blessed moment* over your weekend
xox

&
thankyou *sarah*
