...brown paper packages tied up with string...

...is anyone else out there obsessed with wrapping????

...please let me know asap.. as i am getting a little concerned that i have a definate need to 'fuss' over the smallest of details!
...& i am definately a 'wing it by the seat of my pants' kinda gal- house always in loved semi chaos, paint & fabric everywhere, kids drawings all over the place, garden full of footballs & hoola hoops....you get the picture....BUT...

...don't get me wrong- i loooove the fuss....to the point that the wrap needs to match, in love and thought, the gift that its holding!

...i was totally in lust with the wrappings used in rome...
...easter is, of course, the highlight of the roman year...yet it seemed to me that even the pope himself would pause mass to receive an egg wrapped like this...

...i don't like excessive use of papers & bits...
...i like creative uses of fabrics, paper, string, rope...
...foods wrapped & displayed like this just beg to be taken home don't they?...

...as yet i haven't started wrapping my lovely homemade loaves of bread...nor have i started a farm & am making cheeses to wrap....so for me it's gifts...pressies...& more special things...for special people wrapped in special ways...

...a little thinking of you pressie wrapped in a napkin from a french brocante...
...i keep a pile of one off, unmatched napkins, for this...

...warm banana muffins in a brown paper bag for a surprise afternnoon tea...

...hessian wrapped surprises & a handmade card..
...this is why i keep all my vintage scraps in a big ol' box...

...doing a little something extra to make someone feel special doesn't take much...
...what do you think?...
...whats your 'wrapping' of choice?...
x

  1. Totally agree darling...I think so long as you have a creative flair and are very resourceful you can come up with brilliant ideas. I use brown paper packaging alot..and team it up with colourful ribbons and cards...I try to reuse recycle..and feel better for it ;)
