...a little reflective moment on life...

...as we get closer to the end of the school year here in britian
...i am thinking about all the things that make up *my* life

...the things that make me smile
...the things i *want* to focus on as my first lovely, mature & confident *girl* finishes primary school
...the things that are the *framework* of my days

one. my children....love & chaos..an emotional journey rolled into one lovely big blessed worldly perfect package
two. my partner in crime.... a husband that has *grown* with me like a favourite pair of jeans...or those heels that you put on & each time you do, it makes you surprised how they make you walk a little taller, with a little more confidence & a bit of a smug smile 'cause they are yours
three. a loving together extended family...loving involved parents who *guided* me to become the woman & mother i am today
four. a*worldly* daily life...where i truely understand & completely *embrace* all differences, whether cultural, spiritual or emotional
five. a working life which incorporates & revolves around the most important things in my day- my family & home life...i feel so complete to have the luxury to create & maintain this

six. a life where the *friends* we share our life with continue to shape us as a family...& individually...
my girlfriends are very cherished &  this is a life staple i see my children enjoying daily...
& perhaps one of the most important.....
a real *self-belief* that i am doing the best *i can*
i won't look back & wished i'd done more during our time here...living *abroad* with our kiddos
i won't *curse* myself for never having *got up* the courage, nor for not having followed through with our decision to live in a more *worldly* way with our children

& just to day i am allowing myself a little smile amongst the end-of-year exhaustion to enjoy all of this....

  5. Melissa, I absolutely agree with you 100 per cent; and I love your new image at the top and your family photos. You are a fantastic photographer! It is a scary time when the oldest child gets to high school. The girls just seem so much more advanced, (than we were!! I cant believe I am saying that - but its the truth!! haha~)
    big hugs to you 0000xx

  7. Miss Melissa, you are without a doubt a beautiful soul! Such lovely thoughts and words and I agree 100%. Your new header is divine and as a Mama of a daughter who is halfway through year 8, it is a big thing when your blossom finishes primary school, but to see them achieve and enjoy this next stage of their lives, is an absolute gift. Wishing you a wonderful day enjoying those things you have mentioned sweet girl Hugs ! Tina xx

  9. Miss, you're always an inspiration to me! Your family could possibly be the luckiest and "richest" in the world because they have you!
Hey, what does it mean when you can barely walk in your old high heals? ... ha ha ..

  10. I couldn't agree more, with my oldest child in starting her last year of high school and my youngest heading for 10th grade...it surprises me how fleeting our time as a *living together family is edging away...and I have all the feelings that I think most parents have...happy, scared, proud. It helps me to remember to try to enjoy each and every moment as our lives and the way we move through this life is constantly changing, whether we like it or not.
    Happy weekend.
    xoxo Beth
PS I'll stay an extra 5 in the ocean for you!
