the inspiration is coming thick & fast...
& it's just what i need in this weather...
we're back to rain...sunny patches...then rain...well mostly rain really...
so i need to be inspired, between the sewing orders & the housey stuff, to take my mind off the lack of spring-ness round here...
one of my *favourite & best* blogs always inspires me to take a moment...
to create something pretty...just because it makes life that little bit lovelier...
today simone of gorgeous *beach vintage* fame shared these little tea light holders that she had made from cupcake wrappers....{see here }
well i was totally taken...
i couldn't wait to get across the road to our village cooking shop to get my hands on a pile of them...
but then, thanks to *pinterest* , i stumbled upon these images from *cupcake central* {see here}
that had used doillies as cupcake wrappers...
i figured if i incorporated the two...
i could save myself a trip across the road & make tea lights holders outa doillies...
simone's tea light idea...
cupcake central's doillie idea...
so this is where the darker, rainy
i could make these little beauties...& light them at 2pm to see how pretty they were!
& i know what you're thinking...& i agree...all good things do come in odd numbers...
i would have made three...but i only had two doilies of that size in the house...
& remember i was saving myself racing across the road...
so thankyou simone for the rainy-day-btw-the-daily-jobs-inspiration...
i do love them...
i'm thinking a whole row along the fireplace would be pretty cool...
incredibly pretty & give me my much needed daily doillie fix!
what d'ya think?
too easy...cut the doillie centre out...& join around the size of your tea light...
no measuring...when it fits snug...cut it...
i joined mine with a little white photo corner so it was unseen...
i could have glued...but that takes patience...
the rain took that away!
a whip-it-up doillie project for a wet & wooly monday
perfect!
xox
I like that idea! Might just steal it!! Cx
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful are those Melissa... would be also lovely at Christmas time and just what we need to brighten up the dull days we have been having x
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. Love the lacy goodness the lights throw out.
ReplyDeleteHello my dear, what a clever idea! I have a good stash of paper doilies too! I saw Simone's post and thought it was a fantastic easy deco idea, and I LOvE you adaptation! I think this would be a perfect solution when you want to create lots and lots for maximum effect, because doilies might be more cost effective than the cupcake wrappers!
ReplyDeleteI also love the idea of photocopying sheet music! I never thought of it and it would be perfect for projects because I wouldn't be worried about cutting it up! You are a treasure trove of fab ideas!
I am home again with the children today, Ethan is on the mend, but Tegan is a few days behind. We are going to take it quietly. X
Quite simply gorgeous! gxo
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous - what a lovely way to spend a rainy afternoon! Melissa x
