you all know i lurve fridays...
L.O.V.E...
today has seen one kiddo home from school sick...
one new gate at the end of our garden path...
two dozen cupcakes baked for our village *club day* parade & bbq tomorrow...
three loads of washing done & hung on *this* good old fashioned perfect clothesline...
another lot of herbs planted in the vege garden out the front...
&
all the general kiddo school/after school stuff that happens on a daily basis...
&
it's all good- even the washing bit...
there is nothing like timing english weather well enough to get three loads of washing dried..
outside...
on the line...
i'm feeling seriously cool & righteous now tucked up in bed with a cup of tea, a pile of house mags & my laptop...
i'm snuggled up listening to the kiddos reading or sleeping in their beds...
&
the hubster watching & commenting to the screen on Wimbleton...
he loves tennis...
i love tennis...
&
peonies...
in enamel french teapots...
&
being snuggled in bed when it's raining after a day of sunshine...
there are few flowers that *float my boat* like the gorgeous peony...
i buy them closed tight...
ready to burst open...
we watch them at breakfast each morning...
in their teapot...whilst i slurp from mine...
they are truly amazing...
a.m.a.z.i.n.g
have a fab weekend...
we have village stuff on...
our annual village *club day*...
the close the village, floats & balloons day...
we love it...
it passes in front of our house...
so we make banana muffins & coffees for breakfast...
& drag chairs to the pavement to wave at locals we know *floating* past...
total storybook stuff...
perfect for beach-reared aussie kids living in an english village...
i have been trying to meet my sister-in-law in paris this weekend...
sometimes things just can't be *pulled off*...
i love her so much...
we met at uni...
she's the link between the hubster & i...
but it just couldn't happen...
i just couldn't seem to manage it...flights & all...
so i'm thinking of her...
i'll be thinking of her all weekend...
i told her to stand on the steps of Sacre Coeur & to just take Paris in...
to sit in the Shakespeare bookshop opposite Notre Dame & to just while away the hours...
to walk under the Eiffel Tower & to gaze up & smile for us both...
i do all these things whenever we visit Paris- & i would have done them all with her...
some things are just not meant to be...
so i'm going to gaze at these peonies...
indulge in my mags...
&
snuggle away from the rain...

...happy friday lovelies...
