a good life wednesday...on Sydney Harbour...a place that *fills* my heart to the brim...
our kids learnt to swim at this beach...
we were married on an island on this- Sydney Harbour...
we have travelled to work across it on lovely old ferry's...
we have taken so many photos of it...in all kinds of weather...
we know it so well...& love it so much...
do you have a place like this...?
a piece of land or water that just feels like a friend...?
a place that calms you whenever you see it...?
the *harbour beaches* around Sydney often surprise travellers...
they are no surfers...no waves...no shops selling bikini's & smoothies...
just miles of glorious headland...secluded coves & lapping clean waters...
on a day of perfect sunshine- a piece of paradise on our doorstep...
we live on a wonderful stretch of coastline that offers both surf beaches & harbour beaches...
& yes we feel blessed...
as i said- much has happened on these waters for our little family...
we love them as we love our back garden...
do you have a place in this big wide world that you *know* as though it was your own garden...
it's our own little place, a place which we share with so many from around the world- but a place
that feels like it's just *a little bit* ours...
~~~~~
a *good life wednesday* here
go hang out at the beach with some of the *good life wednesday* gals & have a moment to escape to the beaches
Oh yes I do...The Sonoma Coast of the California Pacific Coast is our place...our friend. My kids grew up on her lovely shores. Long stretches of open wide empty beaches with seafoam green waves and misty foggy shores. Our beach is in Northern California and very different than hot summery bikini laden Southern California. I love the entire California coast but North is home. We love her. And the Sonoma Coast is where I get my inspiration for all my Seawashed paintings.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post! Yes, I have a particular beach on the Coromandel Peninnsula in NZ that I spent every summer on growing up, it amounts to about a year of my life living there! Being on that beach feels like home, so special! :) xo K
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely...my coastal spot is at our bach and lovely secluded beach in Hawkes Bay. I've been going there for as long as I can remember, and now my girls are growing up every holiday in the same spot, with the kids of the kids I grew up with. Simple and perfect. I feel ever so blessed to have such a place in our lives. xx
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, isn't it nice and calming to be by the water....I bet it is nice to be by the sea again!
ReplyDeleteThe old girl sure has a lot to offer doesn't she. Looks like you lapped it up over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI can't name on favourite in Sydney. It depends on the wind direction, the time of day and whether the surf's up or not. We are spoilt for choice.....I doubt my kiddos would be able to live away from the sea for too long in their lives.
....sigh....a post to my heart! LOVE to see your favourite place (have to think hard about mine, probably somewhere in Amsterdam). Love your BB sugar days, will use that one, and I have sent you some linky love in today's post, enjoy the sun, thinking of you, hugs! Maureen xx
ReplyDeleteLiving in a landlocked county in England, we're far away from the sea. My favourite beach here though is down in Cornwall,...it' called trebarwith Strand and there's so many happy memories of family holidays.
ReplyDeleteOver in Oz, it has to be North Cottlesloe (
between perth and Freo)...such fun times, so many happy hours....
