Anzac Day...we remember...

Anzac Day 2012

Lest we forget

Australia's day to remember those who have protected us...

a day to reflect on the amazing strength of our country...
to thank the men & women who have given their lives for our incredible country...
to thank the men & women who continue to protect countless people on foreign shores...

we caught a ferry from the beaches into the city of Sydney...

we talked about a great grandfather from Wales, who gave his life when his boat was torpedoed & all lives were lost...

we took a minutes silence with many Sydney siders who had turned out to remember our service men & women...

the people who have fallen in battle...& the Australians who continue to watch shores afar...

Australia's history...& Australia's future...

we swelled with pride...

i watched our babies, big & aware, & i swelled with pride...

our day began on the beaches...so very early walking the puppy...

& ended with a heart of thanks...
a love for the Australian spirit...
an immense, overwhelming pride in our country...
& a renewed respect for all those *Aussie's* that put others before themselves...
the essence of the true *Australian spirit*...

we walked with our most Australian of pups with pride...

Lest we forget...

~~~~~
take time to thank those that have protected your shores
with three children, i can't imagine how the mother's & father's of those that gave their lives for their countries, across the world, cope with the loss...
but i hope that remembering those amazing souls helps those families for generation to come...
Lest we forget...
~~~~~

  3. What a lovely post, thank you for sharing it with us.

    I just finished watching 'The Pacific' miniseries and my heart breaks for every family which has to wave a serviceman goodbye, until who knows when...

  4. Beautifully said Miss M. Anzac is such a biggie for me too. It feels like such an important day in so many ways. How did they cope with the loss ?

    On another altogether different note, I'm heading to India with Brunnel for a couple of weeks, (sitting at airport waiting for plane) so will look forward to catching up with all your doings once I'm home again. xx
