i spent the better part of the last two days lugging things back to their rightful spots!
& so i have a little stride in my step today...
still in wellies with this english rain...but at least with a little stride...
of course...yesterday i was not in my stride...but in the upstairs cupboard...
& under the stairs...& in the garage organising *stuff*...
so i didn't catch up for our weekly *virtual coffee*...
i thought about it...but gals i was on a roll...big time...!
so here we are today catching up...
my favourite time of the blog week...!
so...if we were really meeting for
we'd be back on the pink chair...
i'd even let you pop your feet up on my new moroccan pouf!
yep we stashed one in our luggage...
a gorgeous brown that will age
{if thats what living with three kiddos can do to anything foreign...beautiful...leather....& under your feet...}
my parents bought it for us for christmas...
they slipped us the dirham & ritchie did the deal...bartering & pacing round the souk...
looking professional at the whole shopping in marrakech souk thing...
which is not to go unrecognised when we in the western world don't generally haggle for anything...
finding a bargain on line...or visiting a sale....
is nothing like starting from no-where & haggling for a price you have in your mind....
& for a moroccan this is delightful way to spend the passing of time...
a *mint tea* is a must in many of the souks & much time is spent on the final outcome...
so yep help scruff up that beloved pouf for us...
put your feet in these moroccan slippers & drink your mint tea...apparently it's incredible good for you...
if we were really meeting for a virtual mint tea...
i think you would have interrupted me with your own idea of what we should call our pouf...
an ottoman...a footrest...a kids stage....what would you like to refer to it as...
i mean it's your feet you've got all over it...
enjoy it by whatever name you like!
if today you really had ventured out in this dismal weather to visit me...
i would be very grateful for the *sit-down*...
somedays do you feel like you've stood up in some sort of capacity since the kiddos were dropped to school...
& eventually you only sit down by way of the car before you collect them again...
i mean it's obviously good to be physically busy...
it alleviates gym trips & well...relaxing i guess...
but today, after climbing our stairs too many times to mention yesterday...
i'm very happy for the sit...so thanks...
i'm also going to do some serious happy sitting this week to finish all the special projects i have ready to sew together for Sol's 10th birthday...
yep we start our 2011 birthday ball rolling on sunday...
he has requested amongst the usual very cool football gear he has marked on line...
a floor cushion & a bedspread...god i love that kid!
so here is a little something in the pipeline...i'll show you it on the floor with the kiddo after the big day!
i think i should also be honest with you about something...
mint tea & sharing & all...
my daughter {who is nearly 13 i must add} & i have a new addiction...
GLEE
there i have said it...
i almost feel relieved...
have you seen it?
if you're between 12 and 20 chances are you have....
well i'm not quite in that demographic but i am quite honestly obsessed...
in fact we discussed over breakfast this morning that we would have a *Glee-free* night tonight as we get nothing done...
with our box set by our sides, evenings run like this at ours at the moment...
home...homework...dinner...Glee!
yep...the characters have us hooked...the story line has me in tears!
the writing is seriously brilliant -the characters of the teaching staff nothing short of brilliant!
well...i obviously feel safe with our weekly catch-ups...so don't judge me to harshly...
& finally, if we were really catching up for a virtual mint tea...
i would tell you that i am already planning holidays...
little half term escapes...
it will be our third visit to this magic school house off the isle of skye when we go in may...
we have escaped up here each may for three years with our dearest, mad, gorgeous London friends...
cooking fresh seafood we have caught ourselves...
& baking our own bread...
in fact we almost lug in more wine than food as much of it we catch fresh...
if you ever get the chance.....it is heaven in a bay...
ok my lovely bloggy friends...it's time i pushed you back out in the cold...
wellies on...i unfortunately have late dvd's to return {i'm almost nearly organised!!} on the way to school pickup...
so thank you hugely for stopping by...
for sharing another pot of mint tea...
{it really is beneficial for you....but so is a glass of wine & a good 10 hours sleep!}...
xox
thanks miss.amy for our virtual mint tea

I love your pictures. And your pouf (I just double checked to make sure that was what you'd called it) is beautiful! We just use our coffee table to rest our feet. :)
ReplyDeleteI have not seen Glee and my sister-in-law berates me weekly about it. I am waiting for her to get so frustrated with me, she just buys me the first series. I know I'd love it, I just forget about it.
HOORAY for organizing!!! I've been doing it for 2 weeks now and it makes me feel so much better. Plus, it'll make our move to Texas soooo much easier.
Thank you for the tea! And the pink chair! I love the pink chair.
How lovely to bring back goodies from abroad - love the line of slippers. Glad I'm not the only one in welly boots at the moment, one nearly got stuck this morning the mud was so deep in the horses field!
ReplyDeleteAll the best to you Melissa

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI'm new here...came over from Amy's post. Just wanted to say that I love your pictures. I look forward to reading the rest of your blog!
~Tatiana
I adore your vitual coffees with you!! I seriously can't wait each week for this post. Your pouf was very nice indeed for my feet, not so sure about the mint tea, but I'm sure with time it will be most tasty. Hubby and I were both Glee addicts for a while there, got the CDs and watched every episode. But not so now. The story line and the songs are just missing something. We are a bit disappointed to say the least. But the first series was fabulous! Thanks for the tea and I do hope you had a grand afternoon with the little people.
ReplyDeleteMust give GLEE
ReplyDeleteanother go....The
hubby and I only
saw part of an espisode,
last year, and weren't
sure what piece of the
puzzle we must be missing!
My girl is 15 and hears
about it all the time...
Though little of her spare
time is spent in front of
the TV....Drawing is her
thing : ) Love your pouf.
I am craving one! And now,
some mint, tea, as well.
Loved catching up.
xx Suzanne
It is such a joy reading your post...I just feel CALM reading them. All the stuff in your house is so beautiful and also just feels serene to me. I am also addicted to Glee!! Especially season 1, it is so funny! Season 2 is great too, just more serious. Nice having tea with you :) I had vanilla though, not mint
ReplyDeletethat was so cosy. GLEE is the best. i knew you'd have to love it!! xxx
ReplyDeleteGlee is Emily's favorite too. I really must check it out. Netflix I guess. Have a great evening, mint tea sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteahhhh....i love a cup of mint tea. several of my friends are always talking about glee and it's one of those shows i wish i would have started watching from the beginning. i love that your son requested a bedspread and a cushion from his mom...you are raising him right! : ) now i am off to drool over your may holiday...sigh...better re-fill my wine glass and then head up to bed so i can get my 10 hours! thanks for tea!
ReplyDeleteLoving your pouf and slippers ... I'm thinking I'll be adding Morocco to my must visit list!
ReplyDeleteOh, Sweets! So fab to have you back for our regular. We should do a virtual one soon - except with wine instead! Seeing your Moroccan goodies is a real treat. I have completely missed the 'Glee' phenomenon so far. I'm not in the right demographic either! Your plans for May sound heavenly. Good for you! J x
ReplyDeleteMint tea... very refreshing. Got to say, my tea consumption has gone up tenfold... I just need a hot drink when it's cold outside. I'm not into coffee and too much hot chocolate will have me looking like the side of a house... even I'm wanting something other than my trusty cuppa. In the UK last winter, I used to drink this Spiced Berry Cordial by Bottle Green and it was delicious hot. You should give it a try! Lx
ReplyDeletei think glee is the most brilliant show since seinfeld...we never miss it.
ReplyDeletedon't be embarrassed, say it with me "I AM A GLEEK"....
cindy
i'm pretty sure i'm the only person around who doesn't love glee. lame! oh well, can i be a gleek anyway?? that word is superb;)
ReplyDeleteYOURS, MINE AND OURS
It's so nice to hear from you again! I really need to do some major organizing around here...wish you could come help. :) I too love Glee and speaking of it I do believe I need to rent the next season. Hope you have a lovely weekend my dear. ♥
ReplyDeletevery nice Melissa! glad we were able to catch up with you! great job on the organization! and the sewing projects. wish you lived closer so you could teach me how to sew!! hugs, cathy
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa, Just wanted to say thanks for all your well wishes, I really appreciate it. Simone xx
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa, I've been absent I know. I LURV Glee - had to mention that first of all. Also am sincerely loving your puofffff and you have whet my appetite for a trip to Morocco when next up north. I know exactly what you mean about being on a roll - I intend to get stuck into it when small people are back at school. Was down at Fairlight snorkelling today - bit of a southerly, but loverly all the same.
ReplyDeleteHave a super week.

I love all your different slippers. My mom would be so jealous of you because she always wants more variety when it comes to slippers. I'm glad your drinking tea now instead of coffee. Tea is way better for you I think at least.
