i have had to race around in the sunshine this morning doing little jobs...
for no other reason than it is absolutely sunshiney!!
my poor sick big girl at home {again} sent me on a few little errands for her...
as we literally live on the end of the *high street* - this was a total pleasure...
this is what greeted me this morning along our village Green...
so it's tuesday...virtual coffee...& my tuesday treasures...grab a mug of something & let's catch up...
i'm having a stripy mug of home-made coffee...
{thanks mum & dad...i have the machine down pat now! x}
want one?
so...if we were really catching up for a coffee...
i'd tell you that we've been doing a bit of flotsom & jetsom hunting along this coast line...
tuesday treasure hunting...
& i'd show you this gorgeous weathered piece of timber the hubster & i found & dragged home...
i have an idea that this could become a beautiful kitchen sign of the like i've been coveting around blog land....what d'ya think?
& then....
you may spot a new little sunkissed glow to my skin...
that's skin that hasn't really seen sunshine properly since last november...!
remember i'm an aussie girl...
my insides rely on a good dose of sunshine to make me a happy lady...
even the ladies in the P.O said i looked *so lovely & healthy* this morning...
maybe i walk around looking slightly weather-cranky at times?
anyhow...i won't gloat to much...karma and all!!
if we were really sharing a mug of something together...
i would tell you that my flag making outa old fabrics & lovely lace is looking pretty gorgeous...
see *here* for a little peak...
&
that i found a brilliant looking crown shaped thingy this weekend for our up-and-coming-royal-wedding-garden-party-table centre piece...
the icing on the cake really...
&
i would show you that i have eventually framed the only wedding pickie i bought to england with us!
at last!
if we were really having a warm chat in my garden watching the daffodils & hyacinth bloom...
i would ask how your gardens are going...
flowers?
fruit?
veges?
i'd like to have them all...but the season thing here in the english countryside throws me a little still...
i'm used to conserving water in sydney...
so i still {3 years down the track} forget to water here in england...
i figure that's what all that bleeding rain is for...
if we were really catching up for coffee...
i would send you home with some gorgeous fresh spring bunting...
a little tuesday treasure for you....
i'm making a pile of it at the moment for our girls birthdays...
it just makes me smile...
nothing like sunshine & bunting blowing in the breeze...
sounds like i'm really letting myself believe that winter is gone...
maybe i did have on a weather-cranky face lately!?
i so love our virtual coffee catch-ups...but i have my big girl to go snuggle & wait on...
so let me know what's happening at your end...
any thrifting treasures in your basket?
how are your flowers growing?
enjoy mine as you head down our garden path...bunting in had...& maybe even a hyacinth or two if your lucky...
see you next tuesday...mine as usual...i may even make muffins if i get sick of the sun!

Ooh! I like that giant piece of wood you found.
ReplyDeleteAnd, can I please tell you how much I want to visit your town to see that view of the water and the sky and that boat?! Sigh.
It is sunny and lovely here in Colorado and I've been getting some outside walking done in the evenings and I feel soooooo much better. Sunshine is definitely a must for my mood too!
As always, it is so lovely having coffee with you!
hmmm...not sure if my comment went through!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the java.
Love your timber it will be perfect to make a sign out of!!!

These are wonderful pictures! And the coffee sounds great! Have a beautiful day, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, what a lovely post, full of cheer and not a single reminder I have to go to work tomorrow! But coffee was good!
ReplyDeleteHi there Miss Melissa (I guess that should be Mrs... especially as you have now shared with us a photo of the special day). It definitely feels as though Spring is here... although we have a winter storm warning for tonight... never the less I spent the arvo in the garden with the gals. I'm taking a bit of a blog break while I catch up on unfinished projects. I've had to stop and remind myself that we are trying to rennovate this old place. Anyhoo, always lovely to catch up for a virtual coffee (tea). Hope your gal feels better soon and a very happy birthday to your wonderful mum. Take care. Lx
ReplyDeletei loooove your sweet little bunting AND love having coffee with you, dahling :)
ReplyDeleteMmmm coffee smells good. Do you have some decaf for me. I love the bunting, the colours and the patterns are very happy. Have a great day. Enjoy giving your big girl a bit of extra love today.
ReplyDeleteLove the weathered bit of timber, can't wait to see what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteYou do find the most amazing things Melissa...
ReplyDeleteMy coffee stop would have been a flying visit this week as I am pretty busy, not with anything exciting unfortunately, just with work duties and with some mum duties thrown in. I would have made a little time to admire the flowers and bunting though.
x
Hi Melissa,
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your mum! She will be glad to see your lovely roses.
Just send you an email, but forgot to say how pretty that crown is, my friend has two in her front garden on the entry way, lovely feature!
And that wedding photo is so romantic, veil and all, classic!
Take care of yourself and your big little girl ok?

Hey would you mind stating which blog platform you're using? I'm going to start my own blog soon but I'm having a difficult time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I'm looking
ReplyDeletefor something completely unique.
