a place to share the moments of my weekend that made me smile...
we take our weekends here, in the english countryside, very seriously...
australians anywhere take their weekends very seriously...!
the kiddo's sports make up much of our routine...
football {soccer}, horse riding, dance...
& i try to fit at least one boot sale or vintage hunt in...
i also try to make this part of the general routine in spring & summer...
right up there with the football & the horse riding...hmmmm?
& the rest of our time is spent just winging it...the luxury of a weekend living in the countryside...
*a weekend lovely*...
always includes beautiful english blooms in jugs, jars & bottles...
twice a week i indulge in fresh flowers...
it's not a day at a health spa, i grant you...
but for me...it's close enough...
have i mentioned that i like a VERY simple life ;)
* a weekend lovely*...
a new scarf...
bought with the b.b {british bestie}...
& worn with my spring mac...
*a weekend lovely*...
always good food...lots of it...& a wine or two...
lots & lots of spinach...
&
lots & lots of cheese...
it could be worse...
*a weekend lovely*...
with kiddos...three of them & two of us...
{so outnumbered with kiddos...}
we sometimes do the american thang...movies & a burger lunch...
& yep...we balance our spinach intake with a serious sweet splurge...
*a weekend lovely*...
spring time in england is car boot time...
& the kids are pretty well as hooked as me...
coffee...kids...cash...& an hour or two...
i have a mental go-to list...
i've lived in the english countryside for three years now...& i'm perhaps a little pickier wiser...
when we first arrived from australia...anything remotely older than ikea in the 80's made me have a second really good look...
now i'm pretty select...
i have my buy-now list...& it is topped with enamel ware...
i love the stuff...
this was under a table...covered in bits...& waiting for me...
one can never...EVER have too many bread bins ;)
*a weekend lovely*...
moments of my day...
when we are all home as a family...
coming & going...
sporting...
thrifting...
planning...
flower gazing...
scarf wearing...
& hanging out...
*a weekend lovely*...
...hope yours was full of moments that make you smile for the simple pleasures in life
the ones that make you know you're living the life you want to lead...

Hello lovely
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, enamelware is to die for! I picked up a bread bin while home in Blighty. I think they must be an English thing as I've not seen any enamel bread bins here in the States. Love the scarf too and finally the spring coats are out... here in NJ we definitely need to don our rain coats at the mo... not complaining though the garden is growing a treat... You and your brood all look very stylish... your little ones have definitely inherited their mums style. Take care. Lx
Yes loving enamelware at the moment and your roses look so good in that jug refecting the steps and the chair, love it all x
ReplyDeleteOh dear my spelling.. apologies x
ReplyDeleteI love your lovelies, especially your scarf and the American thang. :) That is a great shot of the kids in the candy store. I think I need to live in the UK, because I love your layered look! And yes, linkies are always good times...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs from your *weekend lovely* Melissa....I am an enamelware collector too...especially the lovely vintage pieces...
ReplyDeleteHope your week is every bit as good!
