inspiration for a creative christmas...

{

ooohhh  i love the countdown to christmas...
L.O.V.E.
i am having serious trouble *not* unpacking all our christmas decorations NOW...
just to see what i have of course...
not to hang...
or arrange...
{well maybe just a little arranging...}
just to have a little peak...a check that i have everything we'll need...

i also love that my folks are coming to have christmas with us from their sandy beach house in sydney...
my mum will also have to check out the christmas decoration *stash*...
she will absolutely may want to add her creative *two-bobs* worth...
you know, throw her ideas into the overflowing christmas basket...

so i thought i might start sharing a little *creative christmas inspiration* each week...
you know...just show you a few little things i am doing in preparation for the B.I.G day...
or things that i may have found whilst endlessly trawling through perusing lovely blogs with a glass of wine in hand at the end of another chaotic creative day...
{check out the D.I.V.I.N.E christmas decorations at RE...under *gREetings* in their list of goodies...
i'll show you my *couldn't-help-myself-order* when it arrives...}

anyhoo...i painted this canvas a while back...
an art canvas with a quick lick of paint & a few words of wisdom...EAT & LOVE...
but...with christmas just soo close { i should really be making a jug of mulled wine to write this with}
i thought i'd give it a simple little seasonal kick...

ingredients:
a cheapo art canvas
paint colour of choice
a few wise words of wisdom
very roughly cut triangle scraps of hessian
clear craft glue
& twenty minutes before friday school pick-up...
i love it...
simple...
&
up-cycled...

&amp just lovely next to this guy
~~~
so i'm thinking in the countdown to christmas
a little monday sharing
a little inspiration
would be lovely
...if you'd like more christmas inspiration
go & visit my gorgeous friend tina at Rubie's Place...
she is a creative angel...
~~~~~

& if you'd like to know who i am making my bunting for
with a very big smile & a huge sharing of friendship
have a lookie here

  2. Love it Melissa.
    I've just discovered hessian too, have been working on a few little projects which I'll post before Christmas.
    You are funny, with your decorations - my husband is like you, the sooner the better. I like to put them up a bit closer to Christmas, so over the years we have learnt to compromise and they are up by end of first week in December.
    This year we are heading to in-laws in Victoria, so no decorations. I am already missing pulling them out. I think I will spray a twiggy branch and put up my favourites.
    Your canvas is gorgeous. Love how we create our own Christmas traditions once we have our own children. It's still a bit wierd for me being so hot at Christmas, but the children associate all the little touches with Christmas, and the hot Christmas is now their's so I embrace it too. Still hanker for a wooly pully and scarf on Christmas day though. Enjoy your decorations!
