a virtual coffee & london through an i-phone...

hi hi.....virtual coffee time...
yep you have the *pink chair*...my fave & my best...
i'll have the stool...
ok...you first...
how was your weekend?
are you somewhere warm...
are you gazing at the ocean?
are you snowbound somewhere...
are you eyeing off your driveway that needs clearing yet again...?
i'm sitting in a little pocket of sunshine...
spying *snow drops* coming in my garden...
in australia my garden is made up of two types of plants-tough...& tougher...
with water restrictions & a seemingly endless summer i let the strong water-saving plants thrive & just live without the rest...
but here in england...in the countryside...in the cool weather...with an abundance of rain water...
i have a rambling garden full of beautiful bulbs...& *water-reliant* plants & flowers...
they are all beginning to push up through the soil...
bringing the first moments of spring with them...

if we were really sharing a pot this morning...
i would show you my new i-phone apps...
i didn't *lug* my gorgeous canon with me to london this time...
i wanted to do the less-touristy thing & snap with my phone...
i am in lurve with my i-phone...
&
took all these pickies with the *cross process* & *hipstamatic* apps...
what d'ya think?
grainy b & w travel photos...
real life moments...
my kiddos have me addicted to the apps store...!

if we were really meeting for a coffee this morning...
i would tell you how much i love london...
& also how much i adore coming back to our big old country house...
& the quiet of a market town life...
greenwich village...
market lunches...
hampstead heath...
boat journey down the thames...
saint pauls...
quirky hole-in-the-wall shops...
lovely mad londoners...
endless walking...
city life...

what wonderful memories again for our kiddos...
creating more connections...links to our life on this side of the world...
aussie kids in london...
smiles...laughter...travel...friendships...
*stuff* to take home with us...
to treasure forever...

if we were really meeting for a tea in my front room...
warming our toes in that gorgeous sunshine...
i would slip you a banana muffin...
fresh & hot from my big old stove...
& i would talk you into travelling...anywhere...anytime...
just do it...
as much as you can...
memories are priceless...treasured...
no regrets...
be it abroad or a few hours away...go...
make some memories...

&
when i send you off with a tin of muffins
for the road
go say *hi* to amy at *lucky number 13*
our lovely host for
*virtual coffee*

{i-phone apps are way cool!}

  1. I'm in love with all these pictures... seriously! So jealous you were in London this past weekend. I used to live a 30 minute train ride away... How I miss mooching around the City. Visiting the museums... I usually go to the UK for a month in Feb, but this year it has been pushed off, so I will have to make do with your beautiful pictures to tide me over! Lx
P.s Your kiddies are so cute... I think Audrey would have a blast with my little girls!

  3. Sigh. Someday I will make it over to London.

We are very big advocates of exploring and traveling. You would be shocked at the people who live in marvelous places and haven't even seen the amazing things they live by. I am all about first doing the tourist-y stuff and then digging deeper into a city.

  4. Lovely photos! And thank you for the cup of coffee ;) I did feel transported and enjoyed my little jaunt to London! No snow here in WA state, and no sun so far. Just cold, wet rain.
    Best Wishes!

Aussies in London, taken with an Iphone, your pics are like timeless with all the dark and grain, I am so not into the new phones yet, bit of a dinosaur with my old phone, but seeing these pics, what a great phone!
You know I don't have to say it everytime, but having your friendship is truly special, thanks Melissa, big hugs, from me to you,

  9. Love your iphone photos.

I was in the Uk this time last year so I understand about the first signs of spring pushing thru the earth. My SIL was just so excited. Woods with bluebells and snowdrops are so breathtakingly beautiful. Something we do not get here in Brisbane.
Thanks for the coffee and muffin I enjoyed your company.

  16. Hi Melissa, London is great isn't it. I just love popping on the train and going in for a day to shop and take snaps. I'm home in Aus at the moment and we're in for a warm week...yay! I have a date with the sunlounge today but at the moment I'm watching Kerri-Anne(kak) on t.v. and marvelling at the Aussie accents...some of them are actually quite annoying..never noticed before.
    Have a good week. Robx
