*a weekend lovely*...

so blogger threw us all a side ball!
it makes you think though...
loud & clear...
when we're not at home...here blogging & sharing- we really miss one another...
i posted & got ready to read all the lovely comments that followed...
but almost before my eyes...the comments & then the entire post vanished
grrrr...

now...back on track...my blogging thoughts feel clearer then ever...
i want a little structure in my days here...the lack of control threw me a little i'm sure...
so welcome to *a weekend lovely*...
a place to share moments of my weekend that make me smile...
which was in fact one of my initial blogging thoughts...
to share those things that make me smile...

*a weekend lovely*
living in the english countryside still makes me smile...
the simplicity of life here works for me at the moment...
i can really focus on our kids growing, blooming & experiencing life abroad...
i can travel & share those moments with my wonderful husband & the kids...
instilling in them forever *a love of the unknown*...& an embracement of change...
i still, after 3 years, find a sunday morning *boot sale* british style- to be a total thrill...
i embrace my wellies & camera on a regular basis in the surrounding countryside...
& i smile that this beach loving, sunkissed family have learnt & loved so much by taking this plunge...
this decision to uproot ourselves from the glorious beaches of australia to experience life in the countryside 15,000 miles from home...

*a weekend lovely*...
for me, this weekend lovely, consisted of a proper *rummage sale* with my british bestie {b.b}...
& many a coffee...walking in the rain...
the delightful discovery of a much coveted wooden ruler, by said b.b at a yard sale...
i have wanted one of these for soo long...
did i mention the simplicity of my life here?

*a weekend lovely* also embraced many a mini-martha...lots of flour, sitting on benches, kiddos cooking, limes & perfect sunday morning pancakes...

*a weekend lovely*...
after setting up the "we-really-dislike-with-a-passion-a-car-boot-sale-in-the-rain"boys on the sofa in front of match of the day...
& fuelled with pancakes...
the gals & i went mirror hunting & came home with this lovely for £2...
i will get that wall of vintage mirrors one day!

& *a weekend lovely* gave me the chance to photograph my three little bambinos at their best...
relaxed, happy & together...
this moment brought the biggest smile...
they are delightfully dramatic, funny & loving kids...
this quick, spontaneous photo shoot is right up their alley...

ok...so there was probably 20 photos between the first & the last...
& just maybe a little *muuuummmmm...!!!* was starting to kick in....
but i almost love this last one the most...
kids are soo brilliant aren't they!!

*a weekend lovely*
mine was full of it ;)
hope yours was too

You are so lucky to be able to rummage through the treasures and the utterly ~old~ stuff that Australia has very little of!! And a wall of vintage mirrors - how gorgeous!! I am sure you will have it one day!!

  4. I have so enjoyed sharing all those gorgeous moments with you! The pictures of the children in those moustaches are priceless! What fantastic images! The mirror is a total treasure and I love wooden rulers of all kinds... I am envious of the car boot sales you have access to, how wonderful! I wouldn't care about the rain either! Baking with the children makes for the best memories too!
May your week be just as happy as your weekend was! X

    the simplest
    things, if we

  11. A weekend lovely all around Melissa. And yes, that blogger curve ball certainly brought home to me how much I value these wonderful blogging relationships.
We call those rulers 'flick flack rulers' here in our house. I'm sure it won't surprise you even one little bit to learn that I collect them too!
(And the kids photos are delightful to say the least. I am going to pinch that moustache idea!)

  23. What are those blue flowers in the first picture? You know, I've lived in Englad for all but two years of my life and this is the first year I've ever seen (noticed?) them - they are on a climbing plant, right? The ones I've seen around Bath are HUGE! I love them and I want some!
